30 teenagers, 10 children and 30 adults made up the group who spent 6 days at Butlins, Skegness for this year's Spring Harvest event. It's hard to say what attracted us most - was it the music, the teaching, the theatre shows, the laughs over a cuppa with friends at any time of day or the chance to walk closer with God.
Special thanks to the Holmes-Wilson family for making their chalet open house calling it "Starbarts Café"
The time at Spring Harvest can only serve to enrich our life as St Bartholomew's Church family throughout the rest of the year. Please come with us next April. Contact the Normingtons or Carolyn Murray. We will book at beginning of June.
Next year's theme is "Walking the Way of Christ" - "Come to me, learn from me for I am gentle and humble in heart" -
Matthew 11 v 29
Report to AGM ~ April 2008
81 of us enjoyed our 5 days in Skegness on so many different levels.
Yes we were inspired by worshipping with 5000 others;
Yes we relaxed in the evening entertainment of music, comedians, theatre;
Yes we were challenged in the Bible Studies or seminars on knotty issues
Yes our children and young people were loving their specialised groups
Yes we enjoyed each other's company with relaxing drinks in the evening or a stroll on the beach (wonderful weather)
But most of all we each had a chance to meet God in a new way -
and we hope to bring a little of it all back here to our life as a Church Family this year.
If any want to go next year we will be booking already on 13 June and the only dates that fit
with Coventry school holidays are Wed 26th - Mon 31st March 08.
