During the last few years we have been blessed with running up to 15 successful Alpha courses. Those who attended felt they had learned a lot and have been keen to take those teachings into their everyday lives.
You may be unsure what Alpha is and if it could be for you? Well the answer to the second part of the questions is easy - Alpha is for anybody who is interested in investigating Christianity; for any newcomers to the Church; for parents who are thinking about baptism; for couples preparing for marriage; for those who want to brush-up on the basics of Christianity; in effect Alpha is for you.
People of all ages are welcome onto Alpha, it is a way of learning in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere; of meeting people and making new friends. Alpha is a place where no question is regarded as too simple or too hostile.
If you are concerned about the cost - don't be - there is no charge for the Alpha course. The course lasts over 10 weeks and we meet once a week plus an Away Day, which will be fully explained at the beginning of the 10-week sessions. We have a cooked meal to commence each evening, which is cooked and served by members of the congregation. This is followed by a short talk, which in turn is followed by a general discussion. We normally start at 19:30 and finish at 21:00 and to date has been held on a Tuesday evening.
Our last proposed Adult Alpha has been postponed - the decision was taken when it was confirmed that Dave, and eventually Greg, would be leaving the parish. This is only a temporary situation and will be reviewed once we have a new incumbent.
Again, my thanks to all who have prepared food, transport and hospitality throughout Alpha - it would not run without your support.
What is my job? I am the Administrator for Alpha. In conjunction with the Clergy, I ensure we have sufficient leaders for the course. Together we approach participants, who we think may be interested, or have already contacted us, and advise them of dates etc. I organise the food each week, and generally see to the smooth running of each course.

Many people have a hazy idea of what the Christian faith is all about.
Perhaps we remember a few bible stories from school, and read the occasional religious headline in the paper.
Over the past few years,
over 200 Binley people have discovered a whole new understanding by coming on an Alpha Course.
This is a ten week series, designed to allow you to ask those questions you always wanted to.
It is non-threatening, straightforward, and good fun.
Last year several people read something like this in Archway, and decided to give it a go.
All thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and some discovered answers they had long looked for.
